3/31/2015 11:00 AM Last week, the Jumbos went on their annual Spring Break trip. In years past, the team has visited a many different places including California and Virginia during their break. This year,the squad traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC. While in Myrtle Beach, the guys enjoyed hanging on the beach, go-karting, and playing mini-golf among other things. There was certainly time for relaxation and team bonding, but nevertheless the squad got a very solid week of training in. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of last week, most Jumbo athletes competed in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. 3/31/2015 10:43 AM Several Jumbos competed in the DIII Indoor National Championships held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, NC. The representatives from Tufts at Nationals were juniors Mitchell Black, Veer Bhalla, Alex Kasemir and Francis Goins along with freshman Andrew DiMaiti.
Both Black had Bhalla ran the 800m. Mitchell had undoubtedly the highlight of the day as he won the event in 1:51.94. With his victory, he became the first Tufts track athlete to win Nationals since Fred Jones placed first in the triple jump in 2006! Bhalla also had a solid performance, placing 11th overall.
Kasemir, Goins, DiMaiti, and Black also competed in the 4x400m. Their time of 3:18.80, earned them an 8th place finish overall, and All-American status. The points earn...
3/12/2015 2:45 PM This past Friday, several Jumbo athletes competed in the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet. The meet was highlighted by the performance of junior stud Veer Bhalla as he ran 1:53.01 in the 800 meter run. This performance put him #7 in the nation for the event. With his time, he helped punch his ticket to the DIII Indoor National Championships held this weekend in Winston-Salem, NC. Bhalla will square off against teammate and close friend Mitchell Black at DIII’s as Black has already qualified in the 800 and will be racing in the event this weekend.

3/5/2015 11:23 AM This weekend, a handful of Jumbos competed in the All-New England Championship Meet held at Boston University. Although small in number, there were stellar performances all across the board.

On Friday, the team raced a solid distance medley relay. The relay comprised of freshman Sam Little on the 1200 leg, freshman Chris Gregory on the 400 leg, senior Sam Garfield on the 800 leg, and senior captain Marshall Pagano anchoring the 1600 leg. The team of Little, Gregory, Garfield and Pagano ran a season best time of 10:20.33 and placed 14th overall. 2/25/2015 3:38 PM This past weekend, the Jumbos competed in the Division III New England Championships held at Springfield College. The team posted some promising times as they competed in their first championship meet of the season.

The meet started off with Allan Yau and Alex Karys competing on Friday in the heptathlon. Over the two-day seven-event marathon, Yau notched numerous PRs or season bests to put together one of the strongest performances of the meet, finishing in 4th place with 4,236 points.
