Ethan Barron - Head Coach
2002
marked the beginning of Ethan's coaching career at Tufts. In 2005, he took over
the helm of the Men's Cross Country/Track and Field team. In his first year as a
head coach, the Jumbos finished 5th at the Cross Country National Championships
and haven't looked back since. Fighting for regional titles in every season, Coach
Barron's athletes have earned 25 All American and 52 Academic All American honors
in his brief five year career.
Now in his 6th year, the team has continued to gain
strength including NESCAC and New England titles. He holds degrees in Mathematics
and Chemistry from Middlebury, as well as a Masters in Education from Tufts. He
is currently finishing up a second Masters in Cognitive Development at the Tufts
Elliot Pearson's School.
Over the past four years the Jumbo coaching staff has earned
an impressive eight Staff of the Year awards. When asked about the program's successes,
Ethan emphatically says, "You are only as strong as those that surround you, but
with these assistants and athletes - I feel invincible." Ethan is a native of Rutland,
VT and now resides in Medford with his wife and dog. You can email Ethan at ethan.barron@tufts.edu.
