The evening before the start of the 2008 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the coaching staffs for both the men's and women's teams at Tufts University were honored with regional coaching staff of the year awards. In addition to the coaching staff awards, Senior captain, Catherine Beck took home the female track athlete of the region honor.

On the men's side, the coaching staff of Kevin Bright (sprints, hurdles, relays), Rod Hemingway (distance), Adam Carberry (mid distance), Ed Arcaro (throws), Molly Dickens (pole vault), Dan Kopcso (strength), and Pat Cordeiro (physical therapy) were represented by head coach Ethan Barron in receiving the great honor of regional staff of the year. This award marks the 3rd consecutive track & field season in which the Jumbo staff has garnered the award.

When asked about the award, Coach Kevin Bright diverted the honor towards his athletes. "This award says less about our coaching abilities and more about the dedication and competitiveness of our athletes. With a team that comes in as motivated as this one, our job is easy. It was hard not to take notice of the heart and desire that these men displayed over this winter's championship season."

Senior captains Dan Marcy and Dave Sorensen and junior James Bradley earned entries to the 2008 Division III NCAA Indoor Championships. Marcy is entered in the triple jump with his NCAA automatic qualifying distance of 14.69m (48' 2.5"), Sorensen is entered in the mile with a time of 4:13.43, and Bradley is entered in the high jump with a height of 2.02m (6' 7.5").
