At the Open New England Championships, hosted by the University of New Hampshire, Sophomore Trevor Donadt led the Jumbos and improved his 400H time twice--first to 54.14 in Friday's trials, and then down to 54.03 in the following day's finals. Donadt jumped a few spots on the national rankings, and is now even closer to qualifying for the NCAA Championships held at the end of the month.

The trio of 100m runners, sophomore Marc Soskin, senior Marcus Boggis, and junior Philip Rotella all set personal bests in Friday's trials of the 100m, running 11.36, 11.25, and 11.02, respectively. None qualified for finals, but the elusive 11-second barrier appears to be within a Tufts sprinter's reach for the first time since 1991. Rotella also sprinted to a 22.38 in the 200m dash.

In the 1500m run, senior captain Dave Sorensen smashed his personal best, running 3:56.86. The time was only a second off of the NCAA provisional qualifier and was a huge confidence booster as Sorensen gears up for the steeplechase at the National Championships.

Senior captain and high jumper Jeremy Arak was impressive with both his clearance of 2.00m (6' 6.75"), and his very-near-miss at 2.05m (6' 8.75"). Junior James Bradley cleared 1.95m (6' 4.75"). Both high jumpers will give it one more shot next weekend at the ECAC Championships, as will most of the other competitors at the meet in New Hampshire.
