A small distance squad traveled to Princeton, NJ, for the second time this spring to face strong competition at the Larry Ellis Invite.

Freshman Mitchell Black had one of the more outstanding performances at the Friday night meet. His mark of 1:52.51 in the 800m was not only an outdoor but improved by over a second the Tufts freshman record held by current senior Jeff Marvel at 1:53.93. His time currently puts him in the top 10 in the nation and one of the top 3 freshmen.

The 1500m saw Connor Rose set a substantial lifetime PR of 3:54.77, a huge step forward for the fifth-year senior. Junior Jamie Norton was just ahead in 3:54.44 but did not improve on his 3:53 mark from Sam Howell.

In the steeplechase, junior Ben Wallis set a season best mark of 9:15.74, placing him in the top 10 nationally but with a lot of room to improve.

Senior Tyler Andrews set a major outdoor PR of his own in the 5000m, breaking the 14:50 barrier for the first time to finish in 14:45.89. Classmates Kyle Marks (14:54.74) and Matt Rand (14:52.42) added to the tally of sub-15 times for the year.
